Updated Hair Care Routine

Now that my hair is short, my old hair care routine doesn’t work for me anymore. Many people have been asking me about it, so here’s my much overdue updated hair care routine! ^o^

In the Shower

  • Dove Go Fresh Therapy Shampoo in Grapefruit & Lemongrass – I’ve done a product review on this shampoo, I’ll say it again: I love this shampoo! It smells so good and it doesn’t leave my hair dry compared to other shampoos. And it smells soooooo good!!!
  • Dove Moisturizing Conditioner – So I’m a really big fan of Dove. I love their soaps, I love their cleansers, I love their hair products, I love their everything! This conditioner really keeps my hair soft and moisturized. I leave it on my hair for a few minutes and my hair feels really nice after I rinse it off.
  • Silk Secrets One Minute Hot Oil Treatment (Milk) – As you know, I deep condition my hair once a week, and this treatment is one of those local Filipino brands that I love love love. I apply it on my hair as I would my everyday conditioner, put a shower cap over it, and leave it on for five to ten minutes while I exfoliate my skin. I love how it leaves my hair extra soft and smooth that lasts for the whole week. Plus, the scent is so delicious! I’m tempted to eat it everytime!

Styling Products

  • Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 Leave-in Creme – This is my leave in conditioner that I always, always apply after I shower. It gives my hair a boost of moisture, especially when I blowdry my hair.
  • Special Effects Silk Drops Hair Serum – I apply a few drops of this serum right after blowdrying for extra smoothness and shine. It’s alright so far. It doesn’t leave my hair looking greasy, but I’m on the lookout for something better.
  • TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray – When my hair was long and permed, I avoided heat styling at all costs to prevent more damage to my hair, btu now that my hair is short, I need to style my hair to keep it manageable. This is my heat protecting spray which I use right before styling my hair with my flat iron or my curling iron. This is the only heat protectant I’ve used so far, so I can’t really compare it to other brands, but so far I like it.
  • TRESemme Thermal Creations Curl Activator Spray – My hair has a tough time holding a curl if I use heat to style it. This curl boosting spray helps a great deal. Again, this is the only brand I’ve used so far, but I’m really liking it.
  • Fashion 21 Extra Hold Non-Aerosol Hairspray – Besides my curl boosting spray, apply hairspray right after styling also ensures that my curls stay intact all day. I love how this hairspray really holds without that leaving my hair crunchy. It smells good too.
  • Christian Dandy Professional Hair Care Wax (Mat Type) – Okay… so this hair wax came from my friend from Korea. The labels are written in Korean with very poor English translations. It’s alright I guess. It pieces out my hair nicely, but if you put too much it’ll look really sticky and gross. I much prefer my Bench Fix Clay Doh, but I have to finish this one first. T_T

On a final note, I’d just like to say that I don’t use all of these products all at once. I only use what I need, and generally I never use more than three at a time. I’ve had people condemning me for having so many products on my hair. Silly bees. ^o^
